Smart relies on our dedicated volunteers to operate virtually every single function of the organization and the retail store. Our volunteers are the heart of what we do! We are always in need of energetic and hard working volunteers to help with daily tasks in our store and in the community.

Some examples of volunteer tasks include…

  • Processing donations

  • Running the cash register

  • Working with the people we support

  • Opening and closing the store

  • Picking up donations

  • Stocking the sales floor

  • Merchandising and displays

  • Helping customers

  • Marketing Smart at local events

  • Data entry and admin work

  • Assembling craft kits

Volunteering at Smart is very flexible which allows you to determine your level of commitment! Some volunteers are here once a month and others are here several days per week, that is entirely up to you. Wednesday evening bi-weekly volunteer meetings on Zoom allow you to stay connected to the team. We are happy to prepare take-home projects that allow you to volunteer at Smart within the comfort of your own home. Each volunteer earns “Smart bucks” that serve as store credit.
